The Devil Makes Work For Idle Thumbs

As the summer break comes to an end and children start heading back to school, many parents think that they no longer have to worry about finding things to keep their little ones entertained. After all they are at school all day and when they come back they will have no energy left, right? The same mistake is made every year and parents soon remember just how much energy children have and have much constant stimulation they require. If your kids are running up the walls, here are some ideas on how to keep them out of trouble

Toys. it goes without saying that kids and toys go hand in hand. That said, most parents are not ‘in the loop’ when it comes to what is cool and what is not these days. You can of course ask them what they would like, but if you are buying them something for a special occasion you don’t want to ruin the surprise. You don’t want to purchase toys that will break easily or your child will get bored of after ten minutes. A RC helicopter is a great choice for boys and they come pretty cheap these days. Dolls and similar toys are always a hit with girls and there is such a variety to choose from there is no possibility of them getting bored.

Shows
. Taking your kids out to watch a show is usually a popular choice but it can be a bit of a financial drain. A much better option is to have your children produce a show for you. This not only gets their creative juices flowing but also helps them build confidence, not to mention being great fun. Set up a couple of wireless speakers and microphones to make the show even more real.

Sport. If you don’t want your kids spending all of their time indoors, take them down to the park or play some sport with them in the garden. Almost all kids like a fun game of football, but you can also get them involved in sports such as baseball, or tennis, which helps then develop an understanding of rules and scoring, but always gives them some great exercise.
